So it’s official: after 2 awesome vacations with our friends Dustin and Beth, they are definitely great travel companions and also have wonderful ideas on where we should go and what we should do while there. Perfect example, Boston!
Here is my personal account of the places we visited and things we saw. I recommend them all (from the perspective of a tourist) and hope you can make it to Boston one day!!
We didn’t go to the “cheers bar” although everyone keeps asking me if we did. Believe me, we found plenty of other places to make up for it. Sunset Bar and Tap has hundreds (thousands?) of beers on tap and in the bottle… longest list I’ve ever seen. According to Environmental Health Perspectives, sunscreen washed from the skin of beach-goers, may be contributing to the bleaching of the coral reefs. In tests, small amounts of sunscreen were added to seawater containing healthy coral. All specimens were totally bleached within 96 hours.
AT&T has announced a plan to replace more than 15,000 vehicles in their gasoline-powered fleet with natural gas and hybrid technology. This move will reduce the company’s greenhouse gas emissions by 25%.

World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.
Since when did getting your car’s oil changed become as complicated as launching an interplanetary probe? I’m not talking about the do-it-yourself type. Remember those? A socket wrench, a filter strap, a can spout, and a rag were all the tools needed, and I looked pretty damned manly doing it. Oh, I might have worn an apron so I wouldn’t get my clothes too greasy, but once I got started, the black sludge covered up the butterflies and flowers and filled the holes in the lace. Read more…
Congress recently banned the use of certain phthalates (thal-ates) in the production of children’s toys. Phthalates are chemicals commonly found in PVC plastic and vinyl products which interfere with hormonally-driven reproductive development. This ban, however, does not cover the SALE of those toys. Check healthytoys.org or the ZRecs guide to safer children’s products to learn more about the products your child uses.
I’m like most guys. If the car won’t start, I look under the hood. There’s no reason to. I wouldn’t know what was wrong unless I saw a family of woodchucks in the engine compartment gnawing through the wiring.
