GreenScene – Stat of the Day

March 2nd, 2009

Congress recently banned the use of certain phthalates (thal-ates) in the production of  children’s toys. Phthalates are chemicals commonly found in PVC plastic and vinyl products which interfere with hormonally-driven reproductive development. This ban, however, does not cover the SALE of those toys. Check healthytoys.org or the ZRecs guide to safer children’s products to learn more about the products your child uses.
