Review - Gomez: How We Operate

Are you SURE this band is from England? Produced by Gil Norton (Counting Crowes, Pixies, Foo Fighters), How We Operate sounds as American as it gets. It's hard to pin Gomez down as they're pretty damn good at what they do which happens to cover a lot of ground. There are three singers on How We Operate taking turns on lead vocals yet you barely even notice. The title track is mesmorizing, rhythmic, and utilizes a banjo - what a combination! The songs are kind of all over the place stylistically, but somehow it works. Gomez has proven it can evolve from album to album but on How We Operate they seem to change from song to song without suffering an identity crisis.
