Review - Golden Smog: Another Fine Day

It's funny to hear the term "supergroup" being tossed around especially in the case of Golden Smog. Perhaps I'm dating myself but I still defer back to Blind Faith when I hear that certain hyperbole bestowed from time to time. Golden Smog is a collaboration of members of some of the Midwest's finest, including Wilco, The Jayhawks and Soul Asylum. The tunes are strong as everyone seems to have brought their A game to the table. Cohesiveness may suffer a bit as Another Fine Day often sounds like a various artist compilation. It just doesn't sound like a BAND or even a project for that matter but rather several bands vying for your attention. Another Fine Day is a fine collection of music by an outfit that we'll probably never get to see so perhaps we should just appreciate it for what it is.
