Review - Neko Case: Fox Confessor Brings The Flood

I'll try not to gush too much about the latest Neko Case offering. Who am I kidding - Fox Confessor Brings The Flood is a beautiful piece of music. It's suited for fans who enjoy their music in the album format and don't feel the need to download singles in order to shorten our already shrinking attention span. This CD plays like a great novel- sucking you in and making you lose track of time and space. Musically, lyrically and vocally-Case has never been better and doesn't atttempt to hit you over the head with her unique brand of alt-country with a twist of goth. "Star Witness" is one of the most intriguing songs I've heard in a long time and along with this CD, will never get the attention it deserves. Fox Confessor is a great starting point for the uninitiated and a climactic chapter for those already along for the ride.
