Review - Caesars: Paper Tigers
Paper Tigers

Thanks to the placement of one of their songs in an Apple iPod commercial, Caesars have been given a second chance at success. You may recognize the song "Jerk It Out" from Apple's now famous, high-contrast, ultra-colorful tv spots.

Funny thing about "Jerk It Out" is that it was released 2 years prior to the commercial but went unnoticed in the US. With the success and recognition that came with the iPod commercial, Caesars were on the ball with a follow-up release, "Paper Tigers," which cleverly included a slightly remixed version of "Jerk It Out." While I'm not a big fan of rereleasing old songs, in this case it made perfect sense.

Caesars are a 60's throw-back, no question. With plenty of good feeling harmony they blend a psychedelic guitar sound with some dirty keyboard and oodles of tambourine. Roger McGuinn would be proud.

Pay attention to: "Jerk It Out," "It's Not The Fall That Hurts"
