Review - Mudcrutch: Mudcrutch
Mudcrutch

Before they were Heartbreakers, they were Mudcrutch. Formed in 1967 by Tom Petty, Mudcrutch blended southern rock, folk and country into a seamless blend, before a record company broke them up.

Now reunited for what more than likely will be a one-off album, there is not much different about this record as opposed to some of Tom Petty's other recordings. But that is not a bad thing. "It's a record that's good all the way through. I guess most people think that about their records. But I'm right.", Petty says.

His is right.

Even for Petty standards this is an excellent effort. Authentic and true to its roots. Amazing harmonies. Killer song writing.
