So did you hear Limp Bizkit has a new record out? Yeah. Me neither. This one slipped under the radar of just about everyone. Judging by the success of their last effort, "Results May Vary," this technique could be intentional. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
I am being tough on Fred Durst and boys, but they deserve it. Over exposure in the early 00's made for some much needed time away. But now Limp (mufuggin) Bizkit are back with a new set that features the return of Wes Borland. With only 7 tracks, TUTP1 is Limp Bizkit's attempt at a concept album. Could Part 2 be far behind?
One thing I've always loved about Limp Bizkit is their ability to write hooky yet heavy riffs, even if the lyrics that accompanied them were a bit, ok, way too cliche. With Borland back, the sound of TUTP1 is much more refined, dark and ferocious than most of their previous work. There is an anger present that hasn't been seen for a while. It's a reminder to me why I liked this band in the first place. Call it a guilty pleasure if you like, but these guys can rock.
