Review - Bruce Springsteen: Devils & Dust

On The Boss' latest release, Devils & Dust, there is a lot you won't find. No anthems, no Thunder Road, definitely no Pink Cadillac, and no E Street Band. What you will find is a soulful and introspective grouping of tracks that makes you want to know the story behind the words. The sound is spare, many tracks feature just Springsteen and his acoustic guitar. But this seemingly barren landscape demands your full attention much like a Remington painting of the American frontier.

Springsteen's ability to craft a story around simple and memorable melody gives Devils & Dust the characteristics of classic, all-American song writing.
