PAUL GILES

Paul Giles

Originally from Rochester, New York, Paul now lives in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. (The "Ohio" is superfluous, don't you think?) He's been a comedy writer for over 20 years, having started his career as a comedian in San Francisco, California. (The "California" here is even more superfluous, in this case downright redundant!) After working around the country at standup and making less money than the average paperboy, he decided to turn to writing full-time.

Paul's writing and joke credits include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, staff writer for the A&E Network's Caroline's Comedy Hour, articles in journals, magazines, newspapers and books, humorous corporate presentations and speeches, funny greeting cards, cartoons, plus writing for a lot of comedians. He's a founding member of www.comedywritingpros.com, and also maintains a website of humorous essays at www.gilesspeaks.com.

Square fact: Married to the same woman since 1975. And boy, is she tired of his stupid jokes.

Cool fact: During his years performing at San Francisco's famous Holy City Zoo comedy club, Paul worked with Robin Williams, Paula Poundstone, Ronn Lucas, Wil Durst, dozens of other great comics and hundreds of very forgettable ones.
